Mono Lake Tufa Photo
Idea 1: Brighter Tufas
- Increase brightness on the Tufa (shadows)
- Decrease brightness in background
- Probably also have to decrease brightness in water
- Items above may be done easier with Wacom and drawing/painting out a mask
- This maybe isn’t quite working because of the overall contrast becoming muted. Going to extremes made it seem like there is an idea here, but the color tone is too blue/cool
Idea 2: Whiter Tufas
- Can dial back on exposure/contrast treatment and mess with local color around the tufa
- If I make the tufas whiter, the reflections should be in the mask to let them be darker
- Clone out some of the taller tufas’ reflections
Mess with the color and make it more surreal? – Was thinking purple, but not sure why – Maybe inspired by the tufa in this gallery
